Yesterday Youth Voice and St Basil’s had a visit from Radio 4’s Phil Mackie. He came along to observe and interview some of our inspirational young people taking part in a fantastic workshop ran by St Basils Youth Voice and University of Birmingham.
Youth Voice is made up of young people between 16-25 years old from across England years old that have experienced homelessness, sharing their lived experience to support and bring about change. The more young people can be engaged in making decisions about their own lives.
“Youth Voice” is an integral part of a young person’s journey in St Basils and beyond, we are proud to be funded by The Department for Communities and Local Government.
We work to create bespoke creative sessions for young people to share their experience, consult and feedback in all areas of their lives.
The aim is to bring about change to young people effected by homelessness.
This projects enable young people to gain valuable skills to build confidence self-esteem enabling young people to reach their desired goals in Education, Employment and Training. Phil’s interviews will be aired on Monday 18th December as part of the World at one program.
