On Tuesday 21st February, the Youth Voice Team hosted the Youth Voice Launch event. This was to enable young people accessing services at St Basils and National Youth Voice members, to come together and share their lived experiences, opinions and make some noise for their cause. 53 Young people attended the launch and 20 members helped to facilitate the event, held at Fazeley Studios, Digbeth.
Members participated in the Youth Homeless Parliament consultation, in partnership with the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government; with the aim to inform a report being presented to Heather Wheeler MP at this years Youth Homeless Parliament.
In addition to supporting Public Health England with a consultation around Mental Health Services titled: Transforming Children and Young People’s Mental Health Provision: a green paper. Youth Voice members debated, shared experiences and offered recommendations during this session.
St Basils Youth Voice residents had the opportunity to participate in a scrutiny panel, allowing them to question and discuss St Basils policy of engagement, alongside senior management and front line staff.
Each and every Youth Voice member worked extremely hard with the facilitation and participation of this event and the Youth Voice team would like to thank every one who supported us.
