Youth Voice members support Chartered Institute for Housing’s Young People: Housing Options and Support Conference 2017

The Chartered Institute of Housing is the independent voice for housing and the home of professional standards. [Their] goal is simple – [They] want to provide everyone involved in housing with the advice, support and knowledge they need to be brilliant.”


On Thursday 7th September 2 Youth Voice members traveled to central London to present at the Chartered Institute Of Housing’s Young People: Housing Options and Support conference, to 40 housing and support professionals. Youth Voice members had opportunity to share their lived experience of being homeless and offer an overview of the key recommendations made to Government during Youth Homeless Parliament of March this year; regarding the Homelessness Reduction Act,prevention and relief services. Youth Voice members made four key recommendations surrounding Education, Welfare, Accommodation and Support. The housing and support professionals had opportunity to discuss these recommendations and experiences with Youth Voice members.
